You are the Placebo

The truth is that it happens more often than expected. In You Are the Placebo, Dr. Joe Dispenza recounts many documented cases of those who were cured of cancer, heart disease, depression, arthritis, and even Parkinson's disease tremors by believing in a placebo given to them. Likewise, Dr. Joe tells us how others fell ill and even died, victims of a witchcraft curse - or after being misdiagnosed with a fatal disease. Belief can be so strong that pharmaceutical companies use randomized, double- or triple-blind studies in an attempt to rule out the power of the mind over the body when evaluating new drugs. Dr. Gu does more than simply explore the history and physiology of the placebo effect. He asks the following question: "e;Is it possible to teach placebo principles, without relying on any external material, and bring about the same internal changes in a person's health and thus in his life as a whole?"e;Author Dr. Dispenza then cites scientific evidence (including color brain scans) of amazing cases of healing from his workshops, where participants learn his model of personal transformation, based on practical applications of the so-called placebo effect. The book ends with a reflective look at "e;how"e; to change the beliefs and perceptions that hold us back which is the first step on the road to healing. You are a Placebo also includes the latest research in the fields of neuroscience, biology, psychology, hypnosis, behavioral conditioning, and quantum physics to demystify the placebo effect... and show that what seems seemingly impossible is actually possible.
