Scientific integrity

This book addresses two philosophical issues, one related to epistemology and the other to axiology: the philosophy of science and the sociology of science. It explores these issues from different perspectives, focusing on the issue of scientific integrity and its associated values ??as a central theme. This issue, which permeates the pages of this book, is one we have struggled with considerably in our academic lives. Among the important topics discussed is the relationship between integrity and objectivity. Integrity is both a personal and scientific characteristic, requiring researchers to be objective. The book's scope extends to pivotal issues in Egyptian society related to the connection between the values ??of integrity and both development and the university's role in achieving it. It also addresses combating academic corruption in scientific research, emphasizing the university's role in supporting its researchers to practice scientific research in its true sense. Development without universities is a myth, and a university without a dynamic society is also a myth. Within this framework, integrity becomes a fundamental pillar for societal advancement in order to achieve the goals of comprehensive development. Among the issues raised by the book in its final pages is the pattern of thinking that should prevail in contemporary Egyptian society, which is "e;critical thinking."e; This is a pattern of thinking that humanity has been guided to since the middle of the last century, and its goal is to reveal the underlying relationships between scientific research and the class structure in society.
