What if the lessons that could change a young man's future were learned not only in school, but from family, faith, business, and the streets?

Fifteen-year-old Melchizedek "Mel" Bless is growing up in the Bronx under the guidance of two devoted Jamaican parents. His father, Solomon, is a successful real estate broker who teaches him that financial knowledge, ownership, discipline, and faith can open doors that poverty and street life often close.

Then everything changes.

When Solomon becomes seriously ill, Mel and his mother leave New York for California in search of help. While his father undergoes treatment, Mel enrolls at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, where rival gang loyalties divide students and violence is part of everyday life.

Instead of choosing a side, Mel remembers what his father taught him.

He creates The Invest-Men, a financial literacy club designed to bring rival gang members together around a different kind of power: knowledge, ownership, business, and real estate.

Through the club, young people begin learning about:
