There is much literature supporting the beneficial effects of spirituality as a resource in coping with, adjusting to and healing from breast cancer during the diagnosis and treatment periods. Dr. Shachar Siman-Tov's qualitative study endeavors to fill a gap in the research concerning the role of spirituality and its experience during the post-treatment period of breast cancer. This book reveals the unique experiences and perceptions of spirituality through the stories of women who have suffered breast cancer, and presents an analysis of the themes and common components associated with spirituality that emerged from their interviews. The study presented in this book strongly supports the importance of spirituality in terms of connectedness, coping, adjustment, strength, dealing with uncertainty, and going on with life after treatment. Connectedness, as a working definition may serve as a key to unlock potential spiritual resources available to women after breast cancer.
