The Far Field

On the frontier town of Linden, Marshal Harlan returns with little more than a horse, a worn coat, and a past he cannot outrun. Once raised among bounty hunters and violent men, he wants only honest work, a quiet life, and perhaps the impossible - a future with Ada Lockley, the steady-hearted daughter of a farming family who sees more in him than the town ever will.
But peace does not come easily.

When a wanted man is found hanging outside Linden, fear spreads quickly. The killing is no ordinary murder. Whoever did it knows how to track, how to disappear, and how to leave a message behind - a message straight from Marshal's past.

As suspicions spread through the town, Ada finds herself caught between loyalty to the man she loves and the quiet judgment of a community that fears what has followed him. While Marshal hunts a killer across the prairie, Ada must carry the growing weight of gossip, danger, and the possibility that loving him may cost her the life she has always known. As summer settles over the endless fields and suspicions tighten around town, they begin to wonder whether the darkness following Marshal will destroy everything they have built.

Set against the sweeping backdrop of the 1880's Illinois frontier, The Far Field is a haunting and deeply human story about redemption, family, and the long shadow of the past.
