Tiana is a dedicated doctor with a promising future. Kosty is a hardworking mechanic with dreams of building a better life. When a broken car brings them together, their differences seem unimportant. They fall in love, marry, and begin a family.
When Kosty leaves for America, in search of opportunity, Tiana waits for the day they will be reunited. Years later, she follows him across the ocean with hope in her heart, believing they will finally create the life they imagined.
Instead, she enters a word of isolation ,control, manipulation, and painful family conflict. As Kosty transforms from a mechanic into a California Highway Patrol officer, Tiana sacrifices her medical career to care for their children and support his success. But when their marriage collapses, she faces the unimaginable: divorce, financial hardship, court battles, and the loss of daily life with her beloved children, Diana and Matthew.
Nearly homeless and struggling with limited English, Tiana must begin again with almost no money and only half a tank of gasoline. An unexpected opportunity with the United States Postal Service becomes the first step toward independence.
