Paul Rice flies out to California for a lucrative job offer from Ted Blair, an attorney presently cruising along the coast on his yacht. Paul is asked to find a man. Mordecai Reese. This particular book was supposedly written by a cloistered monk with the help of the Devil and later printed unknowingly by Gutenberg. Over the centuries the book stayed in the hands of the Catholic Church until the Nazis took it from them, and now Reese had it. Paul soon discovers that everyone wants to own the book including the Catholic Church, who wanted it back, some Neo-Nazis skinheads, a very attractive woman named Abigail Azazel, who represented the Nephilim, and of course Blair and Reese. The only rub was that those who possessed the book and opened it suddenly died.
