The median is $106,730, the highest in this series, and there is no degree gate. Scarce, shrinking, and extraordinarily well paid: that combination rewards people who play the entry game precisely.

One thing makes this seat reachable in a way most six-figure jobs are not: the credential is individually purchasable. The NERC system operator exam costs about $700 at a testing centre, requires no employer sponsorship, and utilities post trainee desks that say plainly: obtain certification within 6-12 months. You can walk in holding the thing they need.
