The City Beneath the Rainline

Aster Vale survived the end of the old world by drawing a wall of rain around itself. Now its maps are lying.

Cartographer Sera Venn has spent seven years charting safe streets inside the city's atmospheric shield-and mourning the brother lost beyond it. Then an impossible road appears on her map in Tomas's unmistakable hand. At its end is Lumen, a settlement the city insists does not exist, and a warning: black rain is coming.

With systems engineer Jonas Reed, Sera crosses the rainline and discovers a living network of outer communities erased from every official record. Their storm towers could save Aster Vale from the approaching front. But Director Cassian Rook has built the city's survival plan around isolation, and its caretaker intelligence has been forbidden to count the lives outside the wall.

As the shield begins to fail, Sera must reconnect fourteen towers, confront the fear hidden inside the city's maps, and draw a road through a storm capable of swallowing them all.
