Every car has a story.

Not just where it was built or how much horsepower it made. Who sat behind the wheel matters. Who rode beside them. Where they went. What happened along the way. And why, sometimes decades later, that car still matters.

The Car Life Chronicles: Volume One follows five very different automobiles through the lives of the people who owned them.

A 1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar I.

A 1979 Jeep CJ-5 named Clementine.

A 1961 Pontiac Catalina known as Blue Angel.

A 1968 AMC AMX called Silver Bullet.

And a 1953 Buick Roadmaster whose story stretches through generations.

Some are bought new. Some are sold when life changes. Some are forgotten, rebuilt, passed down, or given another chance.

Along the way there are marriages, families, careers, friendships, heartbreak, loss, and thousands of miles. Through all of it, the cars remain part of the story.

I have loved cars for most of my life, but I have never believed old cars are just machines.

We remember where we went in them. We remember who was sitting beside us. We remember the sound, the smell, the road in front of us, and sometimes the person we were when we held the keys.

Eventually, the steel and paint become something more.
