In 1945 the law took eleven farms from eleven men because they were in Burma. In 2026 a satellite proved the law had been right all along.

For four days in March 1945 a colonial officer sits in a room at Anwiam and hears farmers prove their land. Ninety eight claims he admits, on almost nothing, because he believes the people standing in front of him. Eleven he cannot hear at all. The men who hold those farms are four thousand miles away in the Kaladan valley with the 82nd West African Division, sent there by the same government that is holding the enquiry, and when the order is made their rights are extinguished by operation of law. No procedure exists anywhere for reviving them.

Kwaku Bediako comes home in 1946 and spends forty six years asking one question in writing. Forty five letters. Nineteen replies. He never asks for the land back and he never asks for compensation. He asks to be allowed to read the file.

In November 1992, during a forest reserve clearance in the cocoa districts, he and sixty three other men surround a forestry party and hold eleven officers for four days. Nobody is struck. Nobody is tied. What the state does not understand until an officer reads a discharge certificate in a back room is that the men who set the cordon are the men it sent to Burma, and that they are running it exactly the way it trained them to.

In 2026 his granddaughter walks that same boundary with a satellite receiver, mapping farms so Ghanaian cocoa can carry a traceability code into Europe before the December deadline. She goes out expecting to prove the old survey wrong. It closes to within two point seven metres.

There is nothing wrong with the document. That is the difficulty. And the one thing on earth that can break the fraud running on the compliance deadline is the same document that will end her mother's claim forever.

The Admission is part of the Asikam series and stands entirely alone. Every legal mechanism in it is real. Every person in it is not.
