This invaluable tool provides a glimpse into the traditional training methods and techniques rarely seen outside of the Shinjinbukan. Initially conceived of as a student manual for members of the Shinjinbukan, it will be of interest to anyone looking to better understand traditional Okinawan Karate.
The detailed compilation of over 35 years of hand-scribbled personal notes, presented as a collection of more than 1000 annotated photographs and technical drawings, documents the foundations of the Karate Kogan sensei learned from Onaga Yoshimitsu sensei, starting from when they first met in 1989.
An easy-to-use reference manual, Kogan sensei's 35 Years of Dojo Notes includes examples of Machiwara and Sagi Machiwara, Kigu Undo, Hojo Undo, as well as Kihon Waza, partner training, and the standardized Yobi Undo and Seiri Undo, as they are practiced today at Kogan sensei's branch Dojo of the Shinjinbukan.
