Port of Spain sleeps uneasy.

Four powerful men-Blaze Charles, Ramiro Del Cura, El Cura, and H.-fall in "accidents" too neat to be coincidence. Whispers say a figure walks the night: a woman in black with fire for eyes, the Shadow. To some she's a curse; to others, salvation.

Detective Maria Gomez watches the city fracture between fear and faith. Each new body brings her closer to the truth she half-suspects-that her own protégé, Sarafina James, hides behind the visor. To save her mentor and her crew, Sarafina must turn the trap back on its master and face the empire she helped him build.
