Rise of the Veiled City

Forty cycles ago, the aliens attacked. Without warning, all negotiations ceased as they took over. Resistance was met with swift defeat.

The Krythans were scattered. Some took flight to Gan, a neighboring world, toxic and barren. Others escaped to the sea, establishing a tropical refuge beyond the aliens' reach.

Every four cycles, the planets make contact to celebrate their perseverance. Today, the tenth Krytheday Festival will be unforgettable, as those on Krythe bring news. After all this time, more survivors have been found. They require assistance that only Gan can provide, but can it be done before the aliens wipe them out?

Curro and Regina have recently graduated from the military academy, just in time to enjoy the Festival with their friend, Min. Together, they partake of reminders of Krythe's history as their leader, Dominic, preaches for the salvation of Krythe.

But then, why is Dominic wearing a psychic manipulation interface in front of the congregation of Festival attendees? And why is everyone so enthralled with his speech? Perhaps the loud-mouthed rebel trying to get Curro's attention knows more than he should.
