We live in a world that rarely allows us to rest. Even when we slow down, stop working, or lie in bed, the mind remains active and unsettled. Modern life keeps us constantly stimulated, and what we call relaxation is often nothing more than distraction. True rest has quietly disappeared from our daily lives.

We may rest our bodies, but we almost never allow the mind to experience deep relaxation and tranquility. When we try to sleep, the mind moves between memories of the day and concerns about the future. In moments of free time, we turn to our phones, mistaking distraction for rest, while the mind remains quietly exhausted. Because of this fast-paced way of living, it becomes difficult to find true relaxation and stillness for the mind and soul. Without it, we experience constant tiredness and a background stress, often without any clear reason.

Somewhere along the way, we lost contact with our inner center. The cyclone of modern living rarely allows us to remain calm and still, even for a moment.

We may begin activities such as yoga or meditation, yet the mind often treats them as chores that must be completed. Meditation is commonly seen as a serious practice meant to calm the mind or improve health and emotional well-being. While these benefits are real, the experience itself can feel dry and boring at first. Without a sense of enjoyment, motivation fades and the practice is ended.

The problem is not meditation itself, but the way we approach it.

The mind tends to see meditation as a tool to achieve a goal, rather than as an experience that is complete in itself.

As children, we played simply for the joy of playing, without thinking about outcomes or results. Meditation is meant to be approached in the same way.

We are not in a hurry to achieve anything. Meditation itself is an experience to be enjoyed as it happens. Especially in Western culture, we are taught to believe that whatever we do must produce a result. Anything that does not lead to a visible outcome is often considered a waste of time. Yet the most profound and meaningful experiences are complete in themselves.

Experiencing love or being immersed in a beautiful sunset over the ocean brings joy without any goal or intention beyond the moment. In the same way, true meditation is a moment in which we gently step away from the external world, the senses, and the constant movement of thought, allowing inner stillness to come alive. In that stillness, an inner joy arises that cannot be compared to anything else.

Life is already complicated enough. We simply need to allow ourselves to rest and return to our inner space, which is our true home and the source of real warmth and peace.

This small book is a reminder of what meditation truly is. It offers simple and natural ways to relax deeply, such as lying down comfortably in your bed. When relaxation becomes complete, meditation happens on its own. The ecstasy we try to seek is not something to be achieved. It is already within us.
