A diferčncia d'altres estudis anteriors, l'entorn de treball és un escenari on les gravacions vocals es corresponen amb interaccions reals de diferents persones amb un robot, sense recórrer a actors ni a guions preestablerts. Prčviament es fa un recull d'estudis de l'estat de la qüestió que treballen en aquest i d'altres escenaris, així com també s'inclou un capítol dedicat a les teories de les emocions. Els resultats exposats en aquest llibre se situen per sota dels obtinguts en condicions no reals perň superen els publicats fins a la data actual en condicions anŕlogues obrint la porta a futures investigacions en aquest ŕmbit.
