Precision CNC Machining for High-Performance Gears

From the aspects of the full-surface modification, the multi-source error modelling and compensation of gear machine tools, the precision design and manufacture of machine tools, and the optimization of hobbing and grinding processes, and etc. are necessary. In this book, deeply researches are conducted about the basic theories and methods, key technologies, and machining equipment of precision CNC machining of high-performance gears. This book is organized as follows: In Chapter 1, the research status and development trend of machining technologies and CNC machining equipment of high-performance gears are introduced. Moreover, the opportunities and challenges are also proposed. In Chapter 2, the calculation theories of the precision modification method of high-performance gears are proposed, including the envelope principle of the point vector family and the calculation of the envelope modification. In Chapter 3, the methods of reducing the machining principle errors of high-performance gears are presented, including the reducing methods of the tooth surface distortion in the machining process of modified gears and reducing principle errors of the hob relief grinding and gear shaper grinding.
