Bano Qudsia is a reliable name of Urdu fiction writing. The diverse themes of her fictions are a reflection of her keen eye, profound observation and breadth of understanding. She had a deep sympathy for humanity and longed for the welfare of human beings. Therefore, she developed the stories of their myths from the events that took place on the ground level. Economic and social problems, emotional and psychological discomfort, spiritual devotions and marital problems have been incorporated into her fictions with artistic skill. Thus, her fictions are filled with the internal and external events of contemporary human being. Her book "Pahla Pat'thar [First Stone]" contains some of her selected short stories.
