Teenage Allen Maruyama internalized the hostility directed at Japanese/Japanese Americans subsequent to the Pearl Harbor attack. Dr. Allen Maruyama is the first Asian American to stand for the position of moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
