Exactly one way through

Every maze in this book has one route from start to finish, and every route was checked by computer before it went to print. No maze with two answers. No maze with no answer. Nothing unfair.

It gets harder on purpose

The first maze is nine squares wide. The last is twenty-four. The grid grows a little at a time across the book, so a child who starts at the front is ready for the back by the time they get there.

A get-ready page for every maze

Facing each maze is a page that names the goal, shows the character and the thing they are looking for, gives a path to trace to warm the hand up, and leaves a box for inventing a maze of their own. The maze itself always sits on the right-hand page, clean and full size.

Wide paths and thick lines, drawn for a fat pencil and a five-year-old grip. The narrowest corridor in the hardest maze is still a quarter of an inch across. A big 8.5 x 11 inch page, one maze to a page. No reading needed to follow any of it.

A page for practicing basic pencil strokes, a "this book belongs to" page, a worked example showing how to solve a maze, every answer collected in the back, and a certificate to fill in when all forty-four are done.
