Each chapter begins with an opening statement that contains an overview of a specific area of law and ethics, followed by learning objectives so students understand what is expected from the respective chapter content. Each chapter is then divided into two major sections: I (The Law) and II (The Ethics). Section I sets forth fundamentals of the relevant area of law and case examples in sport. It also includes a list of key cases under the heading Setting a Precedent. Section II contains case scenarios, which present and analyze ethical dilemmas—real and hypothetical—that arise in sport and the sport industry. Sections I and II are followed by a closing argument, which summarizes the main points and concepts of the chapter.
