Some stories are about what happened to us. Mine is about who I became afterward.

I thought I knew what my life would look like. Then loss, grief, trauma, and heartbreak changed everything. I became a widow at twenty-four. In the years that followed, I faced experiences that threatened to take more than the life I had planned-they threatened to take the person I was becoming. I endured trauma, the destruction of my home, infertility, complicated family relationships, and the painful work of learning how to live again. But this isn't a story about everything that tried to break me.
It's a story about everything that didn't.
Through grief and unexpected love, quiet faith and hard-won healing, I began to understand that surviving wasn't the end of my story. It was the beginning of discovering who I was meant to become.
