Harvesting Hope

She came to Hope to sell a farm. She stayed for reasons she's still learning to name.

When Samantha Reyes inherits her estranged father's forty-two-acre herb farm in the small Midwestern town of Hope, she plans to assess the property and move on. She has a life to get back to - a career, a relationship, an apartment full of someone else's choices. One week, she tells herself. Maybe two.

She stays through the harvest. Then through the winter. Then through the spring, when she shows up at the Hope Farmers Market with two stalls instead of one, herbs on the left and handmade clay pieces on the right, and realizes she's been deciding to stay for months without admitting it.

Across the aisle, two stalls down, Johnathan Hale has been farming the same land his great-grandfather cleared. He is rooted, steady, content - a man who has never wanted more than what Hope offers. He did not expect Samantha Reyes. He especially did not expect to care, consistently and inconveniently, what happened to her stall.

They grow two different varieties of rosemary. His is field rosemary - warm, herbal, good for long cooking. Hers is Tuscan Blue - sharp, resinous, better used fresh. Both of them are right. Both of them are good. The argument about which is better turns out to be the wrong question entirely.

Hope in the Harvest is a warm, slow-burn contemporary romance set in a town where people wave from their porches and mean it - a story about grief and inheritance, about what it means to stop running and start building, and about the particular love that grows between two people who are both already exactly who they're supposed to be.
