Granny G's Guide to the Afterlife

Lakirkatriss "Lack" King an Army veteran just trying to make his way through life after tragedy left him the sole survivor of his military unit takes a job at Gangrel Labs, the largest private employment provider in the capital city of Virginia, Richburg. The owner of Gangrel Labs, Justin Timbers, a world renowned philanthropist, is highly respected and applauded for his efforts to improve humanity through innovation and cooperation. He also happens to be an Army veteran, one that personally reached out an offered the financially struggling Lack a position within the company as an armed security guard.

Things within the company are progressing smoothly as the staff doubled in size in his first six months on the job and the city was growing right long side it. Lack had been too busy to see all the changes that had been taking place in the neighborhoods he had grown up in. His day to day entailed work, gym, apartment and repeat since the week he arrived stateside. His own apartment was still partially packed as he took on every extra shift available.

On one of his nightly security patrols through the research wing Lack walks in on an old high school friend, Devon Longroad, who is stark naked at the start of a sexual ritual he was about to perform on an unconscious female coworker. A few gunshots later and both men lay bleeding out while the unconscious Portia lies naked herself and tied up nearby.

A mixture of divine intervention and twisted fate open Lack's eyes to the world of spirits and how they are processed after our passing. Can he adjust to his new world and unravel the mysterious plot unfolding in the city he has called home since his birth.
