Requirements of conventional and non conventional sources of energy are increasing world over. Conventional sources of energy from fossil fuels like coal, oil & gas are in increasing demands while the supplies are depleting needing exploration and production from offshore fields. The logistics for distance offshore locations are expensive and plants and equipment have to withstand highly hazardous environment. Their maintenance and capital replacements are expensive due to additional cost in dispatch into open sea. Therefore, there is need to understand and identify the best and cheapest ways of implementing these tasks with careful planning. , A floating system has to be designed constructed and installed on site to suit local marine environment. The book has attempted to cover all these aspects through data and information from actual projects at many global locations. Complex theories have been avoided so that professionals are not unduly loaded to understand theories. The book will serve its intended purpose if it benefits professionals who are new and moving towards offshore engineering.
