Este livro tem por objetivo fazer uma análise do processo terap?utico de linguagem de um sujeito afásico, considerando as quest?es do letramento como norteadoras. Parte-se da prática clínica e de posicionamentos teóricos para desvendar os limites entre essas duas modalidades da linguagem. No âmbito da Neurolingüística enunciativo-discursiva assume-se uma noç?o de linguagem como atividade constitutiva, como trabalho histórico de cunho social. A oralidade e a escrita também seguem essa noç?o de língua, e, dessa forma, descarta-se a dicotomia estabelecida entre elas, passando-se a considerá-las como um contínuo de práticas sociais. Sob essa perspectiva teórica desenvolve-se o acompanhamento longitudinal do sujeito Ma, que faz uso da escrita como um recurso expressivo, em concomitância com a oralidade, no processo de (re)elaboraç?o da linguagem alterada.
