The main aims of treating periodontal disease are to cure inflamed tissue, reduce bacteria and eliminate the periodontal pocket. In the light of above mentioned fact, the nano-carriers loaded with antimicrobial agent in combination with immunosuppressive or anti-inflammatory agents or anti-caries agents can provide a better therapeutic tool for intra-pocket delivery.
