Collected Works of Josef Stalin

The Collected Works of Stalin Volume 6 marks an important milestone in the journey of the early Soviet Union-the year 1924, starting with the tragic, untimely death of Lenin, at whose funeral Stalin was a pallbearer. 

The writings and speeches of this first year of Stalin's first year of leadership post-Lenin continue to chart the multifaceted issues which are involved in any project of socialist construction: international topics, the relationship between urban and rural populations, the internal workings of the party, questions of (re)education, and many more, are touched upon. Importantly, this volume also shows Stalin's ongoing development of Leninism, and highlights the weaknesses of Trotskyism and other anti-Leninist trends, ensuring ideological and organisational unity of the Bolshevik party. 

Volume 6 is a pivotal addition to the continuing critical republication of Stalin's Works, allowing readers, activists, and scholars access to these texts who in no small measure defined the course of the 20th Century, and continue to have relevance for our contemporary struggles.
