Bitter Absolution

Her mother died in a Mullen car bomb. For fourteen months, a Mullen has driven her home.

Nessa Breslin stitches up her brothers at three in the morning, keeps every one of their secrets, and never tells anyone anything. Including this: the son of the man her family blames for her mother's death has been waiting on the corner outside her ER every morning to drive her home. He has never once touched her. That's her rule.

Then Lorcan Mullen's uncle walks out of federal prison wanting the Breslin girl, and Lorcan makes her a deal. He'll guard her, day and night, in her dead father's house. She'll tell her brothers nothing. And she'll help him prove his father never planted that bomb.

But the truth about the morning Bridie Breslin went out for milk will cost both families everything they believed - and the man sleeping outside Nessa's door has a secret of his own.

Forbidden enemy's son · bodyguard · forced proximity · slow burn (he never touched her - until she asked) · he fell first · steamy, with the door closed at the most explicit moment · dark themes (see the content warning inside) · HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger.
