The Domaine de Baumaniere was founded the same year Michelin-starred chef Jean-Andre Charial was born. Carried there as an infant by his grandfather, the future host of L'Oustau now marks a double milestone: his birthday and the anniversary of the estate he considers his own.

In the book created for the occasion, Jean-Andre Charial narrates the history of this legendary estate in Les Baux-de-Provence, long favored by dignitaries, ministers, financiers, and even a visiting queen. Beginning with Raymond Thuillier's founding of L'Oustau and continuing through Jean-Andre Charial's travels, rigorous Michelin-star training, and ultimate takeover of the estate, two intertwined narratives emerge.
