Marcus Webb just wanted to be somebody. The struggling travel vlogger saw the Amazon expedition as his last chance, to find an uncontacted tribe, document their story, and finally escape his failures. What he found instead was a nightmare beyond imagination.

When a rare flesh-eating spider crawls into his ear and lays thousands of eggs deep within his skull, Marcus unknowingly becomes Patient Zero in humanity's worst outbreak. He makes it home to the small Pennsylvania town of Millbrook, population 8,400, believing his ear infection is nothing serious.

He's wrong.

Two weeks later, the eggs hatch. Marcus dies screaming in a hospital emergency room as thousands of juvenile spiders pour from his body. But death is just the beginning.
